
John Nimmo - Partner
Having studied at a Blackpool Grammar School, John read biology to BSc level in London before going to the College of Law in Chester. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1985 and has practised on the Fylde Coast ever since. John has further developed his skills since being admitted, and was one of the first Blackpool solicitors to become a member of the Law Society's Advanced Family Panel. In addition, he is a Resolution Accredited Expert – testament to his considerable knowledge and experience.
John has a particular interest in finance cases that relate to marriage, civil partnerships and cohabitation. He also deals with cases involving trusts, wills and probate, inheritance tax planning, and international child abduction.
Deborah Wylie – Partner
Deborah studied atLayton Hill Convent School in Blackpool before reading a BA (Hons) in English at St David's College University of Wales. Thereafter, she studied at the College of Law in Chester, where she passed her exams with a distinction and was admitted as a solicitor in 1997.
Deborah became a member of the Law Society's Children's Panel in 2004 and so it is appropriate that her expertise focuses on all aspects of child law. This includes residence, contact disputes and care proceedings amongst many other areas. Deborah is one of the few solicitors in Blackpool authorised to represent children, parents and guardians in local authority care cases.
Lindsey Cooper – Consultant
Lindsey studied at Queen School in Lytham St Annes, followed by the University of Manchester and the College of Law in Guildford. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1978 and was a partner in a Manchester firm before becoming a founder-partner of Cooper Nimmo in 1990.
Lindsey's skills cover all areas of property law – buying and selling houses and businesses, organising leases, and buy-to-let arrangements to name but a few. Her expertise and commitment to client care are both reflected in her track record and portfolio of satisfied clients.
Sharon Beck – Associate Solicitor
Sharon read her LLB law degree at Manchester Metropolitan University and went on to study at UCLAN and, later, UCLAB, where she completed the Legal Practice Course. She was admitted as a solicitor in 2006.
Sharon's expertise focuses on family law, specifically cases involving children, domestic violence and harassment. These cases call for a particularly compassionate and sensitive approach coupled with a tenacious approach to getting results, and Sharon excels at this aspect of her work, as evidenced by her experience in applying to the courts for emergency remedies such as injunctions.
Joanne Flynn – Legal Executive
Joanne has been a member of the Institute of Legal Executives since 2005 and so posseses a versatile set of legal skills which stand her in good stead to serve the needs of her clients. This qualification marks her out as a force to be reckoned with in the legal world.
Joanne focuses on property law and is experienced in carrying out purchases, sales, shared ownerships, leases and buy-to-let agreements.
